This new series has fun, new dating terms and concepts, outrageous shenanigans, a touch of magical realism, twists and turns, broken hearts, chemistry, fashion, seduction, food, and of course romance.

Even though there will be returning characters who make minor appearances and minor characters who become our heroes and heroines, each book is a stand-alone read where new couples get their own stories. Characters move in and out of a downtown Houston multiplex – a 1920s house (some say it’s haunted) that has been renovated into four separate apartments. And Dorlana’s favorite trope “opposites attract” is the theme that also ties these books together.

This series is published by Soul Mate Publishing.

Dorlana also writes Supernatural Mysteries and Fairy Tale Inspired books.  Passage to Queen Mesentia was a particular favorite of hers to write.

Passage to Queen Mesentia by Dorlana Vann

Five-thousand years ago a king was cursed for love. In 2005, a queen is found in an unmarked Egyptian tomb.

Dorlana says, “This book was one of my favorites to write and most of my research was done by using my personal library – I’m a huge fan of ancient Egypt.  The story starts out in modern day Texas where a cowboy, a princess, and an immortal travel to Egypt for an old-fashioned treasure hunt. It is also a five-thousand-year-old love story: forbidden, cursed, forever, lost, reawakened.”

Here’s one that really grabs my attention, Supernatural Fairy Tales.

Supernatural Fairy Tales

There are 9 short stories which are inspired by classic fairy tales – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Rumpelstilzchen, The Little Mermaid and more. These short stories are not retellings of the original tales but are inspired by them. They are paranormal themed stories about vampires, ghosts, mermaids, witches, etc., in genres ranging from romance to thriller. And Dorlana says, “Fair warning: they don’t always have a happy ending.”

Sounds very intriguing….!

When Dorlana isn’t writing, she enjoys shopping, playing Texas Hold ‘em, movies, shoes, the beach, restaurants, and festivals. She lives in Texas, just northeast of Houston.

I hope you’ll stop by Dorlana’s website and see all the exciting stories that she has to offer as well as check out her Movie and Book Club’s Reviews.  Her group (women ages 23-47) picks a book that has been made into a movie. They read the book and then get together for thematic food, to discuss the book, and then to watch the movie.  She posts about each event on her page.  Loads of fun!

Until next time everyone, stay wonderful!
